Windows into Heaven
In the coming months, Leonidas Diamotopoulos and members of his studio will be traveling from Greece and Spain to Colorado. While here they will install new iconography at Saint Catherine's in Greenwood Village, CO and at the Assumption Cathedral in Denver, CO. Leonidas, and his team will also be visiting our parish and in the coming months, they will begin installing iconography on the east wall of our new church. Preparing for this day has taken several years and initial conversations with our iconographer occurred long before construction on our new temple began.
At the direction of Metropolitan Isaiah and with His approval a plan was started and it is beginning to take shape. As new icons are installed the interior worship space of our church will be transformed. Over time additional icons will come to adorn our walls and through them, God will be glorified and the message of salvation will be shared through these holy images.
The entire process of building this church has mirrored the reality of our own transformation. As we have transformed this physical space we have also worked together to transform ourselves into a community of Christian disciples. The beauty and meaning of these icons will serve, along with all that our parish offers, to enhance generations to come and will inspire us to glorify God in all that we do.
We thank God and all those who have worked alongside Him to make this possible. We look forward to seeing these holy icons in our new church and we aspire to live out the truths they represent.
